The first year grads had their Paris trip last week! They spent their first day exploring locations like the Latin Quarter, the Notre Dame, Boulevard Saint Michel, and Montmartre. They enjoyed eating at a traditional French cafe, and seeing the beautiful cathedrals of Sainte-Chappelle and the Basilica of Sacré Coeur de Montmartre.

The first years went to the NRW Forum to see two amazing shows: the “Sneaker” exhibition and a retrospective of Tim Berresheim titled “Neue alte Welt.”

The first years took a visit to Kunsthalle and the Kunstsammlung to look at the K20 collection. They got to see the works of many 20th century painters including Joseph Beuys, Pablo Picasso, and Gerhard Richter at K20, and some contemporary works at the Kunsthalle.

The first years grads went to KIT, the Kunst im Tunnel exhibition space, to see art made by students who graduated from Kunstakademie.

The first year grads visited the Kunstakademie in Altstadt with their professor Jutta Haeckel! They got to see many different artworks from the classes offered at the academy, as well as the influences of renowned German art professors.

AMY SILLMAN’S STUDIO: Our Grads had an amazing visit to Amy Sillman’s Studio in Brooklyn.

EMILY CHENG Lectured on her work and met with our grads in their studios for individual critiques.

DEANNA EVANS PROJECTS: 1st year grads Met with Deanna Evans at her gallery in NYC and Deanna had virtual studio visits with each grad.

A Trip to the Park Avenue Armory ADAA Show in NYC to see Düsseldorf Faculty Jutta Haeckel’s solo Booth!

This past week the second year grads had finals! Check out work from each of the 2nd year grads.

Day one started with meeting Jutta Haeckel at her booth at The Art Show and finished walking through The Met visiting countless paintings.

This weekend the grads had an open studio event at their studios in Oberbilk.
Over the course of the semester the grads have been working hard and they were excited to show their current work. They will be returning from Germany soon and this was a great way to end the semester!
